When I saw the TED Talk “Your body language shapes who you are” I immediately became a fan of the idea. Today, I have mastered the concept “Fake it until you make it, make it until you become it”, an idea championed by Amy Cuddy.
I have always been interested in Event Management, but admittedly a little hesitant to put myself out there. One day I was selected for a job interview and given 48 hours to prepare a complex project. I wanted to give it my all and I spent 30 hours working on it to reach perfection.
The extra time I spent paid off, as I soon landed my first role as an Assistant Event Manager. During my first 3 months, I had already organized 6 events. Shortly into the job, I managed transportation and logistics for a conference event with nearly 250 people. I have only received gratitude and thankfulness for my hard work and dedication from clients. At the moment, I'm taking an Event Management Post-Graduate Program at Humber College and I'm looking forward to more experiences in Events.
